Weekend Soccer Trip to Gatlinburg

Jermaine had a soccer tournament in Gatlinburg this past weekend so we got to tag along. We left Friday night after his school soccer banquet and got there around midnight
the kids were so wide awake once we got into our room
J's games were early Saturday morning. We slept in, ate breakfast and pretty much chilled in the warmth of our room. To say it was cold is an understatement!
He got back later that morning and we hung out for a bit before his next game
We went out into Pigeon Forge for dinner and to the outlets. They had a team huddle later that evening and then it was back for more games the next morning. The views were gorgeous!
 Thats snow on the mountains
Hanging out in the van at the last game .... my boys. Javan is just so good with Evan. No worries Ria is too but there's just something about seeing Javan with his baby brother.
So glad we got to get away for a little bit. Always a nice refresher and helps you recharge a little.

4th of July: Big Game Day (FIFA 2014)

We got this day started off with a brisk morning walk before breakfast
We got ready for the big game day for World Cup matches ... we were all rooting for Brazil
Braaivleis and soccer matches .... that's a perfect summer day for any South African family (J fits right in as the braai master! he grilled us quite a feast)
Mum made a trifle (all the stuff that J has been asking me to make ... she took care of it!)
enjoying the afternoon games and cheering on Brazil
Later that evening we met up with some friends to watch the fireworks

It was actually quite chilly for a July evening ... good thing we had blankets in the car!
