Trick or Treat

The weather wasn't that great today - rained on and off - so we had a change of plans and headed to the mall for Halloween. We met up with our neighbours ... Leah was a lion tamer and the rest of the family were her lions!

A local church sponsored this trick or treat ... I don't think the 'little mall' (as Javan calls it) aka Bradley Mall has seen this many people since last Christmas!

It was definitely a fun night! Javan had his fair share of lollipops until next year:)

Trunk or Treat

We had Trunk or Treat at church Wednesday night so the kids got a chance to show off their costumes.

Here's our little butterfly!

all set for trunk or treat at church last night

...Javan got him a red and yellow lollipop to match his costume and a candy cane and he was done with the candy after that!

Pumpkin Painting

Tuesday night we decided to paint our pumpkins ... J said maybe next year we can get adventurous and try to carve them! Remember this is only the 2nd year we are doing the whole pumpkin thing so this is still new to us .... baby steps ok:)

We really had no game plan. Just got out the paint and let Javan do what he wanted to

then we did some damage to our pumpkin - actually that was J's artwork.

It's ok to laugh ... no points for creativity here:)

Pumpkin Picking

Last year we had so much fun visiting Guthrie's Farm in Riceville that we had to go back this year. Sunday afternoon we finally made it up there along with a pretty big group of friends from church. Javan was so excited and wouldn't stop asking if it was time to go to the 'parnkim farm.' He loved the petting zoo, the rope maze, the hayride and of cos picking out his pumpkin. We got a baby pumpkin for baby Ria, a little pumpkin for big boy Javan and a big pumpkin for mummy and daddy. The whole afternoon was absolutely wonderful: perfect weather, great company and sweet memories. I hope we get to do this as an annual event:)

trying to find the perfect pumpkin
we found them!
actually this one is better!

First Bite

We have entered a new phase ... and its kinda sad yet still exciting. We've never been the parents to say 'I can't wait for XXX to do XXX' We've been quite content to enjoy each phase of our babies lives and not long for the next phase to hurry up.

Earlier this week I found these on sale at Publix

Earth's best Organic fruits and veggies 3/$1 and I had a coupon for free rice cereal so I decided to add them to my groceries. I did make 85% of Javan's baby food and I plan to do the same for Ria but these are great for when we are not home.

Since Ria is about eight days away from her 6mth birthday (gasp) we decided to give her a little taste of cereal this morning.

First bite

mmmm....maybe its not too bad after all! Most of the cereal ended up on her bib!

My aunt skyped while I was feeding her so she was excited to watch Ria eat her first cereal!

Let the fun begin ... it will be interesting watching her reaction to all the different foods she will try.

New To The Crew

Meet the newest member to Lightening McQueen's Pit Crew:

We're glad he is thrilled about his pick so we're guaranteed to not have a repeat of last year. The only problem ... he wants to wear it ALL the time and won't take it off. We have to bribe him to take it of to leave the house!

the happiest cow you'll ever meet:)

Ria will debut her real costume Wednesday night at church ... let's hope it arrives in time!

Tonight Javan got to wear his costume out. We went to the YMCA Fall Festival which was lots of fun ... we ate, hung out with our wonderful neighbours and then let the kids run wild.
