Pregnancy Update: 38w 2d appt

Hopefully this was my last appt ... if nothing happens I go back in a week. We had a growth scan first and unfortunately no pics - the tech couldn't get any good shots. baby is SO low that she couldn't even get a profile shot at all.

here's the latest stats:
my blood pressure: 124/80
my weight: gained 2lbs (total 17)
my fluid levels: 6-7cm
baby's weight: 8lbs
baby's heartbeat: 154
baby measuring at 38w 4d

I am now 4cm dilated and 70% effaced. not much more from last week but at least it didnt stay the same. Baby has also slowed down in growth which is good! Dr. Childs did comment on the my bp being a little high and my fluid levels being low. So he asked me to drink even more water .... like waking up 3-4 times a night to pee isnt good enough! My feet, esp. my right one, are terribly swollen and its very hard to walk so I'm limping. Other than that I feel fine.

Here's my 38wk belly (taken monday)

and my elephant foot

I've given up wondering if I'm in labour and I'm trying not to be anxious about everything and just enjoy our last few days as a family of three! baby will come when baby is ready:)

Make Room For Baby!

We've spent the past month and some moving Javan out of the nursery, setting him up in his big boy room and then working on the nursery. We finally finished it (save for a few minor things) this past week.
what the nursery used to look like

and the new look:
the colours are aqua chintz and stone (i cant remember the full name of this one)

kuulei came over to help on Good Friday

Justin working on the tree

and its pretty much done - we'll do the last minute stuff after baby arrives (name, pics in the frames and stuff for the shelves)

We're both really pleased with the way it turned out. The best part of it is that we were able to use most everything from Javan's nursery and just switch things around.

The Ringbearer

Javan got to be in his first wedding yesterday ....

Rehearsal: HUGE success
Ceremony: Major bust (ok maybe thats an exaggeration ... but it felt that way!)

I kinda expected that to happen and I dont really blame him. I think if everyone had left him alone before the ceremony he would have been fine. But oh no - people who rarely see him wanted to be all over him and I'm pretty certain that stressed him out. One of the flower girls didnt want to walk down the aisle either and he wasn't sure what to make of that either! He eventually decided to walk down but wanted his daddy to go with him but J refused. Javan walked a little and then turned back to walk out the church. So I took his hand and walked him down and at the end of the aisle he just plopped down and started pouting! Kids ... you never know what they will do!

The wedding was beautiful. Jenn made a gorgeous bride, the cake was SO delish and I'm glad I ate a huge piece of it (even though I'm not supposed!) but more than anything I'm just so glad I didnt go into labour!

rehearsal:

Maternity Pictures

I'm truly blessed to have some really talented friends! When we were in Destin, my friend Steph happened to be there at the same time and we were able to get some photo's taken on the beach. I always thought it would be so cool to have some maternity pics taken on the beach, never thinking that would ever happen. But it did! Most of the pics were of us just having fun on the beach with a few belly pics thrown in.

A couple weeks after that my friend Brandon met us at the Old Woolen Mill and he snapped these shots. We just decided that morning that we'd go out in the evening since the weather was perfect. However when we got there, it was cold and windy ... that's Cleveland weather for you!

I'm glad we got the chance to take a few (nicer) pics of this pregnancy. I'd probably feel bad if we didn't ... you know, have to be equal to both babies:)

Pregnancy Update: 37w 2d appt

Well this pregnancy is slowly (or maybe rapidly - I dunno) coming to an end. I have to admit that I am sad. Even though this pregnancy has been SO much more different (ie difficult) from Javan and SO much harder on me, I will miss it. I guess I am one of those that enjoys pregnancy:)

My appt this morning started off with the NST. They monitored baby for about 30mins and then I saw Dr. Childs (thats another thing I am sad about - I'm gonna miss seeing him all the time!)

latest stats:
my blood pressure: 110/80
my weight: gained 2lbs
baby's heartbeat: ranged from 150's-170's during the NST

and I am 3cm dilated and 70% effaced. I was a little shocked by those numbers. J says the look on my face was hilarious. I didnt expect to hear that and the reason why it freaked me out is cos thats what I was at my last appt before I had Javan. But I know it could still be a while or it could be a matter of a few days!

I do think I need to get my bags packed cos this could really happen any time!

here's my latest belly shot (taken this morning) 37w 2d

oh and if you want to guess baby's gender and possible birthdate and stats, now would be the time!

Come On Everybody ... Ride The Train

On Saturday we had a fabulous time visiting the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. Javan is fascinated with trains. His new "big boy" room is a train theme and he couldn't be happier with it. We got there early and walked around checking out different trains.

I have to say that I was having as much fun as Javan. I was like a little child again. The train ride was amazing. We travelled about 3 miles, got off at their workshop and saw how they do repairs to the massive engines and watched them turn the train around.

What an experience to have with the three of us right before our new addition. I actually want to go back again in the near future.
