Sleeping Babes

Every night after bedtime stories and prayers, Javan begs us to let Ria sleep in his room. The answer is always no cos they end up fighting and then he wants her out of his bed cos she just wants to play. Well Monday night we just let them play for a while. All we could hear was tons of giggling and the bed shaking from all their jumping. We left them alone and I could hear some squabbles and then more giggling. Finally it got really quite in his room so we went in to check and they were fast asleep.

 This was just before J went to bed

 Tuesday morning .. not sure how they switch places!

Tonight they went to bed together but J just moved Ria to her room ...

she really LOVES having someone with her when she is sleeping. She's always been a cuddle bug but she's a wild sleeper ... she is ALL over the place when she sleeps!

Little Dragons

Javan had his first karate lesson yesterday. We have wanted to try this out for at least a year now and I finally just called and got the details and since the times fit with our schedule so we decided to give it a try. He loved it. His friend Nathan came along too which worked out great cos he had company. It was so cute watching them bow before the entered the dojo (training room). Here's a few pics ... they don't get their uniforms until their next session in two weeks.

Ria was VERY concerned about this new development for her big brother ... it was hilarious watching her watching him. She really had no idea what to make of it!

I am so glad they both enjoyed it. Javan has the tendency to be shy (in certain situations) and we are hoping this will help build his confidence.

Just wanted to share this little Javan story (more so I dont forget cos it made me laugh):

Ii usually bathe the kids before church every Wednesday night, feed them and then change their clothes (they eat in their undies and a t-shirt!). Today was no different, except that we were running behind schedule cos I was babysitting. Once I got them set up with supper, I told Javan that I was going to jump into the bath real quick. His response to that:

Mummy don't be silly. You can't jump in the bath. You'll get hurt!

Just Skate

Javan has a new skateboard and he LOVES it. 

He actually earned it for being helpful and is so excited about learning how to use it.

Judging from these pictures I wonder if a certain someone got it for the little kid or the big kid!!!

so yea some days I have 3 kids to watch out for!!! It cracks me up that Javan's isn't allowed to ride without his helmet and knee pads etc but here's J on a skateboard riding with flip flops! Yes. he's crazy.

Pool Date

We spent this morning at the pool with our friends Stephanie and Nathan ... good thing we went early cos we beat the rain. So tired of all these storms we have had lately. Don't mind the rain but the storms are no fun.

We don't usually go to the pool this early day since all 3 of us have sun allergies and break out pretty bad ... I know we'll pay for it tomorrow but the fun today was worth it:)

Sunday Fun: Cars 2

 After lunch and errands we headed to the theatre to make one little guys day even better!

It was also Ria's first time watching a movie on the big screen. She did pretty good. Ironically Javan's first movie on the big screen was Cars when he was 4mths old. I think he slept through the whole thing but J just had to take him!

 The movie was pretty good ... very different from the first but we enjoyed it. Since our house is in shambles (no exaggeration cos we are getting the floors done), we decided to prolong our fun day and eat at Panera. There is something so cozy about Panera on a rainy day. 

We bumped into one of Javan's friend's, Will so we ate with them. The kids had a blast playing. 

Thankfully it wasn't busy in there so they weren't a nuisance to anyone.

25th Anniversary Celebration

Last Saturday we celebrated the 25th anniversary of our pastors Jim and Kathy. It was a beautiful celebration for two really amazing people. I helped with the party so I took a lot of pics!

 Not gonna lie ... it was pretty hilarious looking at those fun 80's pics! We did a slide show of pics of them through the years and everyone was cracking up!

 The cake was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G : Chocolate with raspberry filling, Italian cream cheese, carrot cake with cream cheese and coconut cream. The Italian cream cheese was divine.

Kathy's wedding gown ... I have wanted to sell my wedding gown for the longest time now but after seeing Kathy's gown displayed at the party, it made me change my mind! If we are to ever have a celebration like this, what a great keepsake to have displayed. I used to play with my mum's wedding gown and veil so maybe Ria would love to have mine to play with one day!

 we had a crazy storm and tornado warning in the middle of the party ... Ria and Abby enjoyed watching the rain!

It was so fun listening to all the memories family and friends had to share of them over the last 25yrs. Marriage is hard work and it's great to know people who value it and show you that its possible to have a strong, loving and Christ-centred marriage despite the challenges you face over the years. Made me look forward to Jermaine and I reaching this milestone.

Speed I am Speed

Today was a fun day for so many little boys (and a few little girls!) .... CARS 2 opened in theatres and to celebrate we had a CARS play date. We planned a fun time for our little CARS enthusiasts: CARS themed food, cupcakes, music, colouring pages, pinata, story time where they got introduced to the new movie characters and to top it off ... a screening of the first CARS movie. It was so much fun!

Fakey McJavan modeling the shirt I made for him ... he wanted me to make him some new CARS pj's and since I had extra fabric I tried my hand at appliqueing. Not bad for a first try! I got adventurous and made some for a few of this friends too!
