It's A Merry Christmas Morning!

Christmas time with kids is just so magical! And now with Evan around its three times the fun. Of cos he's just a year old. so he doesn't quite get it yet. He knows something fun is happening but just has no clue what all the hoopla is about! Here's some pics from our morning.

Javan actually woke up around 3am and came into our room saying Merry Christmas guys!!! I mean seriously. I looked at my clock and told him to get back to bed :) Ria woke shortly after that and we could hear them chatting. Finally around 7:30 the boys woke up, so I laid on the couch while they sat around waiting for Ria and daddy to wake! We were so tired but these kids were like energizer bunnies:)
reading the Christmas story first
 Ria LOVED her Elsa dress
Evan was pretty excited about all the paper he got to tear into
and Javan was super stoked about more Legos
 Our own little Princess Elsa
Birthday celebration for Jesus  ... we've always done this earlier in the season but we really enjoyed doing this Christmas morning this year.
and our family pic .... its so funny that Javan and Ria remember us setting up the timer and asked if we could do a 'its flashing' pic!
We spent the rest of the day relaxing - I cooked, the kids played with all their new stuff, we chatted with family and just enjoyed the day together.

Evan wore Javan's first Christmas outfit for dinner
After dinner, we got our jammies on and went to look at Christmas lights. We had such a fun time!

Christmas Eve

We had big plans for Christmas Eve, but everything changed when our friends who were spending the afternoon and evening with us called to say they were leaving the doctors office and everyone had tested positive for the flu:( BOO. Not the best way for them to spend this wonderful holiday. I still cooked the meal I had planned for us all and J took dinner and gifts and left a care package on their front porch. We were pretty bummed but lets be honest, none of us wanted the flu so we basically quarantined ourselves to our house. I told the kids I know it makes for a sorta boring time but I would rather us be well and enjoy the holidays than be miserably sick.

After dinner, we got everyone bathe and into our Christmas jammies. We attempted our annual pics and it was no easy feat with a busy baby who's on the move!
reading The Night Before Christmas
It was such a mission to get these kids to bed on Christmas Eve. They were so excited that they could not sleep. I think they finally gave up the fight around 11pm!

Evan: 13mths

It's Christmas Eve, but its also Evan's monthly birthday! We celebrate 13mths with this lil love of ours.
He is so busy working on his newest skill: walking (merely taking steps right now so still mostly crawling)
At 13mths, Evan loves to climb, is walking up to 6 steps (took his first steps 3 days ago), loves Mickey Mouse and is a great eater (is not picky at all). He is 17lbs/7.2kg, wears 6-9m clothes, size 2 diapers, 6-12m shoes and has one tooth. His words are daddy, mama, hi, bye, baby, more. He knows where his eyes are and he still loves to do squats and can do downward dog. He loves playing cars, balls and reading and he is fascinated by the dishwasher. He is just a busy little thing and is definitely mama's shadow. He has made our family so much sweeter!

December Snapshots: week 3 (getting ready for Christmas)

Getting in one last workout before the Christmas eating frenzy begins!
 movie night with the baby
 Christmas baking
 Evan loves mangoes!
Ria decided Evan needed a Christmas hair bow :)
While I was cooking our dinner for Christmas Eve, the kids were outside playing. I hear them squealing and giggling and when I looked outside it was raining. They were having a ball playing in the rain. So fun watching them!
More Christmas Eve coming up ...

Evan's First Steps

We were all sitting on the floor playing with Evan Sunday night.  He kept pulling up and standing. I put my arm out to him and said 'come here' and just like that he took his first couple of steps into my arms! I screamed and so did the kids. J caught it on video! Evan was so, so thrilled with himself!
He is definitely our earliest walker! Javan was almost 14mths and Ria was 13.5mths when she started walking.
