TMC Easter Egg Hunt 2013

Every year our church hosts a community Easter Egg Hunt. I've had the fun task of coordinating it the past couple of years and even though its a lot of work, its so much fun to do and the kids look forward to it. This year was just as fun as previous years, but we did have an unwelcome guest .... the bitterly cold and damp weather. There's just something unnatural about hunting for Easter eggs in winter coats and rain boots! It was so cold that I couldn't feel my legs and I could barely snap pics on the camera. My kids LOVED every minute of it. Javan even had a friend from his school show up at the event - pretty random since our church is about 40mins away from his school. They got to play in the inflatables, ride ponies, pet the animals in the petting zoo, get their faces painted and of cos hunt for eggs. Here's a few pics from the day ...
When Ria realized the Easter Bunny was on the firetruck, she freaked out and started crying. She refused to get anywhere near him. Later in the evening we asked them if they had fun. Javan of cos was all excited and wanted us to hear his fave moments of the day. Ria says 'yea it was fun. actually I didnt like it cos of that Easter Bunny. I don't like him!'
'Where o where do I begin!'

And just like that another event is over!  Our T-shirts say 'Here to serve' on the back and thats really what we did. I am so proud of our church ... everyone worked so hard and helped pull off such a fun day for the kids in our community.

Ria Visits the Hair 'Sawon'

Ria's been asking me for a while to take her back to the hair 'sawon' so 'that girl' can do her hair again:) Yesterday before I got really busy with all the work I had to do for our Easter Egg Hunt at church, I took her to get her hair washed, blown out and cut. I just got her to trim and cut some layers. This little madam was LOVING being pampered!
After the Egg Hunt, we went back for a little touch up and my poor girl was so exhausted, she fell asleep! I had to stand in front of her and hold her so she wouldn't fall out the chair!

Jumping Junction

This has definitely been a rough two weeks for us ... we rarely get sick and it seems like when we do, it takes a while for us to recover. It also stinks that the bulk of my sickness had to come during Spring Break:( Basically it meant I had no energy to do fun stuff with the kids every day. But I know they were over being quarantined and we had to get out. Thursday was sort of a 'teacher appreciation' day at Jumping Junction so teachers kids got in free. You better believe I made use of J's teacher ID! We spent about 5hrs there. The kids had a blast. We had Norah with us too and once she woke up, she joined in the fun too:)

Build A Bear Fun

Ria's friend Livi turned 4 last week and we got to celebrate at Build-A-Bear workshop. It was our first time there and was quite a fun and interesting experience! Ria chose a 'vanilla' bear and got to help stuff her. She named her 'Teddy Hamber' but so far the new bear mostly goes by Teddy:)
