Christmas Fun

We had a fun time celebrating Christmas this year! It was Javan's 2nd Christmas and he certainly did know that something was different about this day! I've been teaching him to say Jesus and its so cute listening to him say it ... sounds like Jeeshoosh:)
Anyways this was definitely a quieter Christmas but fun nonetheless. Nothing like a spending a rainy day in your jammies:) Here's a few photo's from the day:
its finally Christmas morning!

Javan wants some trifle too!

we had dinner with our friends Leto and Jaya and this is the only photo's I have from that fun evening at her parents home.

getting in some last minute play with his new stuff before bed time

Micheal, Sasha and Kristen stopped by for a late night visit - it was fun catching up with them.

A New Day

The highlight of the trip to Las Vegas was definitely getting to be at Celine Dions VERY last performance at Caesar's Palace. This was a big deal. The show ran 5 yrs and she sang 5 nights a week. She was originally supposed to be there for 3yrs but extended the contract another 2yrs. Franco Dragone (of Cirq du Soleil) created the show for Celine Dion and Caesars Palace built the 4,000 seat auditorium specifically for this show.

I'm still in disbelief that we actually got to be there! It was beyond amazing. everything about it was breathtaking - from the set design, costumes, dancers and the imagination of all these artists - you just sit in awe watching such an amazing performance. The music was live and Celine is fantastic. She is a wonderful performer. Her voice is something else! I really wish we could have taken pictures but like every show no cameras and such allowed (we had to check in our camera).

She started the show with A New Day and sang songs like I Drove All Night, To Love You More, I Surrender, My Heart Will Go On and I'm Alive. She also did a couple fo French songs and Taking Chances from her new album that was just released. She ended the night with a Christmas carol (Chesnuts roasting...) I think we really lucked out cos since it was her VERY last show she did more songs than she usually did and she talked with the audience a lot! She's really sweet! Oh and I think all of Montreal was sitting in our section (that's were she is from)!

This was definitely a night to remember. I have wanted to watch this show since opening night ... it just took 5yrs to get out there!!!

The flight from hell!

We missed our original flight leaving for Vegas (our fault - actually we were there within time but due to a 45min baggage call wait they wouldnt let us board) anyways after much drama and running around we were able to get on the next flight out (a little poorer i might add ... funny how what was a free flight ended up costing us!)

So we thought that was bad enough but we certainly werent ready for what came next!
Everything was great until the person seated next to me arrived. He had such an awful body odor that I had to bury my head into J's back to keep from gagging. When he woke up from his nap, he tried to have small conversion with me and usually I'm totally ok with that but every time he spoke he moved in closer to me and I honestly had NO clue what he was saying and of cos his breath stunk so bad! He ordered several bottles of bourbon and drank them straight with just sips of coke in between bottles. Needless to say he was pretty drunk within minutes.

Heres some of the audible bits of the conversation that went on for about 40mins or so. I wish I had a way to record it. It was funny but also very annoying. He was so drunk (and just reeked of alcohol) that everything he said was pure jibberish - my only response was 'ok, thats great, mmm'

'I lived in Vegas. I got your back here so we cool right?' Alright straight... Yea you feeling me right?'
'You know a lot of people dont know this but I'm bilingual. I speak Spanish but yea I dont like to abuse it. Just use it if I need to. You feeling me?'
'Yea yea I got your back, everythings cool'

I kept thinking he was gonna throw up on me!!! He asked the flight attendant for 2 more bottles of bourbon and she got it for him. Once he downed those he wanted more but she couldnt give it to him cos she had already locked everything.

When J got back into his seat (he was walking around) he shook his hand and said 'oh man didnt mean to disrespect your girl but we just talking' He started leaning into me so I leaned forward and I think it upset him cos then he wanted to pick a fight with J. 'You wanna box, you wanna box me. we can box right now' Then he started using foul language at J at which point we got the flight attendants attention. He came over and asked the guy if everything was fine and he kinda blew the flight attendant off. He refused to give him the empty bottles.

I asked to get my seat changed but couldnt cos the flight was full. So J switched seats with me. He started leaning on J and propped his arm up on J's shoulder and then passed out a few mins later. J leaned forward in his seat and this guy practically slumped into J's seat. By this point we had arrived and we were on the tarmac for about 35mins. He was out cold. All the passengers were getting of the plane and he didnt move at all. The passenger in front of us said he was at the bar before the flight and was already drunk.

We were so glad to not have any of that drama on the way back ... everything was going smoothly. That is until we waited forever at baggage claim and one of our bags didnt arrive! J went over to enquire about this and the lady very nonchalantly says 'oh yea that ones arriving on the 9:20pm flight' It was 7pm when we got in to Atlanta. Ugh. so we waited for our bag and only arrived in Cleveland just before midnight. What a long day.
