October snaps

Wrapping up October with these snapshots

Claire had her 3rd birthday party on the 11th

 I think it started 'snowing' here

 hence the white stuff on his head

 I was so proud of Ria. She wanted to write Claire's birthday card and asked me to spell Claire's name for her. We have been working on writing upper and lower case letters, as well as numbers, and she is doing so good. For the past year and half she has written her name in all lower case, but she's noticed Javan write the first letter of his name in upper case so she has started writing her R in uppercase for her name. I am so proud of her.

 She wont let him hold her but she loves to hold on to him

Later that evening on the 22nd the kids were outside playing. I heard Ria scream and ran outside to see her holding her face. Javan was trying to play ball tag with her and threw a large yoga ball I have at her. It knocked her out and I dont know how she fell but her face was bruised and bleeding and so was her hand. I was pretty upset cos I had just told him earlier not to play wild. Not a fun night for sure. This was 2 days post injury. Her face was too swollen the first 2 days.

The Mouse and the Turtle .... Halloween 2013

We had a fun time trick or treating this ... I should just say treating cos no one does tricks! Javan was Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Ria ended up as Minnie Mouse. She was supposed to be Ariel, then changed her mind to Rapunzel and then 2 days before Halloween decided on Minnie. Good thing we had the costume:)

We hit up our usual jaunt of Centenary Ave, went over to a friends house for a little party,  visited Grandma Flora's neighbourhood and once J got out of class, finished of the night at the mall. This mama was exhausted! We did a TON of walking:)

 We met Steph, Matt and the boys and then picked up some other friends along the way too ... the more the merrier!

Pumpkin Picking

Saturday we had a fun family outing to a local pumpkin farm. Last year we didn't make it out to visit any of the pumpkin patches cos J's schedule was just too hectic and we almost didn't make it this year. This past weekend was the last the farm was open. The kids were super excited to go. The weather was nice, a little chilly but not too bad.

 this slide was more of a hit than the pumpkins itself!

 Since it was the last weekend, its safe to say the really good pumpkins were pretty much gone

 but they were on a mission to find theirs.

Everyone got their pumpkins and Ria says 'you need one too mummy' I told her I am carrying one around every day so mine will do:)
