Fun Long Weekend

We had a really fun weekend and the extra day off on Monday was a great treat ... of cos now that I work full time at home, I don't get a long weekends any more!

We had a lazy day at home most of Saturday. The kids played outside with J for a while and I baked. I made a Tres Leches cake (translated to Three Milks - its a Mexican cake): recipe here. Later that afternoon we headed to Amy and David's house for a Mexican dinner (hence the Mexican cake:). Amy made fajitas and quesadillas and had all the the fun stuff to go with it. It was such a fun evening ...

Sunday Lovin'

Sunday evening we were invited to a birthday luau for one of J's former work colleagues (they still keep in touch). We had a blast ... Javan got to play volleyball for the first time and he loved it and Ria ... well she kept the dance floor HOTT!

*I just wanted to add this little tidbit about Javan here ... he really is a very observant kid but of cos like all kids doesn't really share everything with us - it's always I'll tell you later or I can't remember right now but maybe I'll remember another day, etc etc etc. Anyways we were just sitting and chatting with everyone around us and he was having a grand ol' time when out of the blue he leans over to me and says 'mummy everyone here has brown skin ... just like us.'

Monday Funday

Another lazy morning and after lunch we headed out to the mall .. J took the kids to Best Buy and I got to do a *little* retail therapy for myself. We had dinner at Mellow Mushroom with Josh, Courtney and the boys ...

and finally let the kids play in the splash area .... it was driving them crazy having to wait!

I love days like these ... so carefree and fun. Summer is almost here and this is the first time I will get to spend a whole summer with my kids. No need to worry about missing work or taking vacation days. I cannot wait for the fun stuff we get to do together.
