Sunday Fun: The Market Edition

My love bugs ... 

After church, we headed to the Chattanooga Market. We've been to the ones in Cleveland but this was our first time to the Chatt market. 

 

Javan got to try rock climbing ... a first for him.

My dad went to the market in Verulam almost weekly to get our fruit and veg for the week, and I occasionally went with him, so in my mind I kinda had that image of market but it was different. There wasn't much variety and the prices were fixed (no bartering like we're so used to!). Overall though it was a good and something we will do more often on Sundays ... I told J it reminded me of my Sunday afternoons going to the flea market on Durban's beachfront.

 I put the matching pieces close together and she did great ... Javan of cos *HAD* to help her

Old lesson for Javan but first time for Ria ... I had old paint sample cards (from Lowes) and she had to match like colours. Thought it would take her a little while but she got it in the first go!

We baked rainbow cupcakes (forgot the after shot .. .too busy eating the goodies!)

we also spent a lot of time at the pool 

Friday our friends Trinity, Brooklyn and Bentley invited us for a pool play date at their neighbouhood pool. We had a wonderful time and naps were GREAT that afternoon:)

 I've been sewing a lot these past few weeks ... prob need to do a separate post on some of the stuff I've made, but I was really excited to get an 'order' ... yes an actual order and it came unexpectedly too. Just got a call from a friend asking me if I can make certain things and next thing I know I was material shopping:) I really am enjoying my sewing.

I made this for Ria a few weeks ago.

She wore it once and I had a few people ask me where it came from ... I've made 7 of these since! This would also be Ria's fave 'pretty' ... she wants to wear it ALL the time and has gone so far as taking it out of the dirty clothes to put it on. Silly girl!

Pandamania - VBS 2011

We had VBS (vacation bible school) at church last week ... the kids are clearly still in that mode! They absolutely love the music and insist on listening to it in the car all the time. Right now they are dancing to the God is Wild About Us (the theme song) while watching it on youtube! It was such an exciting week for them and they are really disappointed that its over. I know all the teachers don't share the same sentiment cos it can get exhausting but honestly just watching our kids get excited about God, makes it all worth it. I did the photo's for the week and put together the slide show for the kids to watch each night and J helped with the sound.

 Ria LOVED her first VBS ... she hated me leaving her but she got over it quick!

 Javan had a major meltdown during this activity. EVERYONE got wet that night and my little clean freak could not stand having to sit in wet clothes!

ms amie had a rough week!!!

Ria and Livi were so cute loving on each other .... Ria leaned over to Livi and hugged her and said 'my fwiend Wivi' It was the cutest thing ever. So glad I was sitting next to them when it happened!

During recap on Friday, Melissa asked one of the groups where Jonah went to. She gave  them a hint with 'TAR ....' Javan raised his hand and said 'He went to Target!' 

Yesterday Owa was here and we were chatting about Ria's crazy antics. She asked Javan why he hasn't been watching over his sister to keep her out of trouble. He says 'cos God is watching over all of us!'
